Located at Koskelankatu 8, 35800 Mänttä, Finland, café Wilhelmiina is a charming retreat that combines a cozy atmosphere with delightful flavors. As a food reviewer for Menuverge, I have had the pleasure of exploring this quaint café, and I can confidently say it deserves a spot on your culinary map.
The moment you step inside, you are welcomed by a bright and inviting interior—perfect for unwinding with a cup of coffee or enjoying a hearty meal. The staff exudes a friendly warmth that enhances the overall experience. Customers often mention the service, and it's clear that the team here is dedicated to making your visit memorable.
One of the café's standout offerings is their selection of burgers made with 100% Angus beef, which you can savor in various formats—from the classic Angus burger (€8.90) to the indulgent double burger with fries (€14.90). The juicy patties are crafted from locally sourced meat, ensuring freshness and quality with each bite. But it’s not just about the burgers; those with a sweet tooth will be equally satisfied. Customers rave about the homemade cakes, particularly the rich chocolate cake that balances sweetness with a deep chocolate flavor, a must-try for dessert lovers.
Another highlight is their Finnish munkar, which patrons have described as a tempting treat that is freshly baked and bursting with flavor. The coffee, although it may lean towards a lighter brew compared to Italian standards, has earned praise for its quality and the lovely crema that many find delightful.
Despite some minor inconsistencies in service and order accuracy mentioned by guests, the overall experience at café Wilhelmiina remains favorable. The ambiance is conducive to relaxation, making it an ideal stop for cyclists during events like the art weeks or simply for anyone looking to take a break while exploring Mänttä.
In conclusion, if you find yourself in this picturesque Finnish town, café Wilhelmiina is a delightful destination that offers a mix of savory and sweet indulgences sure to satisfy your cravings. From the tantalizing Angus burgers to the delightful homemade desserts, each dish carries the charm of local craftsmanship and a welcoming atmosphere that will keep you coming back for more.

Kaveriksi sain oikein erityisen hyvän tupla espresson. Sanoisin että suomessa yhdeksän kertaa kymmenestä saa huonompaa. Voimakas mutta pehmeä maku, ja paksu crema. Hienoa, kyllä nyt taas kelpaa jatkaa matkaa!

Kiva kahvila, johon oli helppo poiketa polkupyörillä taideviikkojen keskellä. Tilasimme listalta kaksi keskenään erilaista hampurilaista. Jostain syystä emme kuitenkaan saaneet ihan sitä mitä tilasimme. En tiedä mikä siinä oli vaikeaa. Hampurilaiset olivat oikein hyviä, mutta molemmat tulivat pöytään kylminä.

The espresso (€3.20) we had was more like a lungo, but the coffee tasted fine. Especially considering Finnish standards of espresso, I would say it was quite good. So, be warned, it is not italian coffee level of quality and expertise, but it likely is the best coffee you can find around this area. The cake we ate was just amazing. Home-made, quality ingredients (no artificial cream). The staff was super friendly and spoke English very well. Interior was cozy, and well lit. Tableware was not damaged in any way. You can buy used or damaged tableware from them for OK prices. Good thing they don't just throw them out, but give them a second life!
